In the early 1990s our Board
of Trustees voted to make Glenwood a truly regional program
in order to serve more children from throughout the Chicago
area. Our northwest St. Charles location, built in 1994 and
dedicated Rathje Campus in 2000, serves 96 children each year
from Kane, DuPage, DeKalb, McHenry and west Cook counties.
Two more cottages are planned, which will increase capacity
to 120. Rathje Campus sits on 120 acres and is comprised of
11 buildings including eight residence halls - three for girls
and five for boys, an academic center with a library and computer
lab, a field house and dining hall/office building. A modern
facility, Rathje Campus also has plenty of space for kids
to run and play, a well-equipped field house and a fishing
pond.
The Rathje Campus offers both a Residential Program for boys
and girls. Students who choose to continue to live on campus
after graduating from 8th grade attend St. Edward High School
or Westminster High School, both in Elgin.
