HOUSEPARENT COUPLES
Glenwood School for Boys and Girls is seeking
married couples for full-time live in houseparent positions
at our main campus located in the Chicago southeast suburb
of Glenwood Illinois.
Glenwood School has a 122 year old tradition of residential
and educational service to disadvantaged children and youth
throughout the Chicago land area. Houseparents at Glenwood
School play a central role in the care, nurturance and social
skill development of each child.
The primary role of houseparent is to provide parental-type
supervision, structure, guidance and teaching in a positive,
safe and caring environment for on the average of 11 children
ranging in age from 7-17. The ability to establish meaningful
relationships with youth, parents and the ability to work
effectively in a multi-disciplinary setting (i.e. school,
recreation, counseling, etc.) is a must. Glenwood School houseparents
work a full week schedule with weekends off. Houseparents
are provided with personal living quarters and amenities available
for their use at all times.

RATHJE CAMPUS STAFF POSITIONS

FULL-TIME 10 MONTH COOK POSITION
Glenwood School for Boys and Girls is seeking
a full time cook for west campus located in St Charles, Illinois
(western suburb of Chicago)
Glenwood School has a 123 year old tradition of residential
and educational service to disadvantaged children and youth
throughout the Chicago land area. The cook play an important
role in providing the students with healthy meals each day.
Job Summary:
This position exists to help and support the Supervisor of
Food Service in planning and providing nutritious meals for
students and staff, maintaining a high standard of sanitary
conditions, controlling inventory and remaining in budget
allocated for the Food Service Department.
Primary Responsibilities:
1. Prepare and serve lunch, clean serving line and put food
away after serving.
2. Prepare and serve dinner, clean serving line and put food
away after serving.
3. Help organizing food and supplies as they are delivered
4. Help with cleaning chores as required; i.e. windows &
glass, stainless steel counters and appliances, vents, ovens,
stoves, fryer, floors, silverware, trays, pots and pans.
5. Help at special events as needed.
6. Assist with Food Bank pick ups.
7. Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
- 2 Years experience cooking and/or food preparation
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Food Service Sanitation Certificate
- Ability to read, write and speak English
Compensation and Hours:
$10.00 - $10.45 per hour plus benefits, personal days, sick
days, holidays and vacation time.
Monday – Thursday 9:00 am-5:30pm & Friday 5:30am-2:00pm
Off during summer months
Applicants must have valid driver’s license. Experience
