A Rewarding Experience...A Successful Future
One Child Campaign - Annual
Fund Drive
People often feel removed and isolated from the problems of
disadvantaged children in our community. Glenwood School for
Boys & Girls is a community-based nonprofit that provides
real solutions for children whose lives and futures are at
risk due to serious family and social issues and have no where
else to turn.
You can make a meaningful difference in an at-risk
child’s life and future by making a generous gift to
Glenwood’s annual fund drive - our FY08/09 One Child
Campaign.
Your support means each day of the upcoming school year one
child can count on breakfast before school, help with school
work in the learning resource room, a secure place to play,
a warm bed to sleep every night while being surrounded by
a caring family-like community. These things seem so simple,
yet for an at-risk child they are the difference between thriving
and failure.
Glenwood relies entirely on contributions from private individuals,
foundations and businesses in the Chicagoland and Fox Valley
Regions to exist. Each year we must raise $15,000 to cover
the direct costs of one child’s stay at Glenwood. Every
gift of every size can mean one more child has a chance at
a better life and future, chances they would not otherwise
have.
Together we are making a difference in this world…one
child at a time.

“We are so proud of the
accomplishments of the young people at Glenwood. How blessed
we are to be able to be a part of their successes.”
~ Charlene & Lael Mathis, Child Sponsors
Please stop for minute and consider…you
can make a difference in an at-risk child’s life and
future. An annual Glenwood Child Sponsorship provides the
direct expenses for one Glenwood boy or girl during this upcoming
2008/09 school year.
Your gift will mean that each day a child can count on breakfast
before school, improving his or her vocabulary or basic math
skills, having a secure place to play, and a warm bed to sleep
every night. These things seem so simple, yet for a struggling,
at-risk child they are the difference between thriving and
failure.
Glenwood relies entirely on contributions from private individuals,
foundations and businesses in the Chicagoland and Fox Valley
Regions to exist. Each year we must raise $15,000 to cover
the direct costs of one child’s stay at Glenwood. As
a Glenwood Child Sponsor, you can give one more child a chance
at a better life.
This year’s Annual Child Sponsorship campaign is important
to meeting our ambitious goal. The goal for this summer’s
drive is to raise enough money to have a Child Sponsor for
each of our 200 children for the upcoming school year. Your
decision is critical to not only help a child in need, but
to help us meet our goal.

School Sponsorship (back

“I am most grateful to Glenwood for giving me
the opportunity
to have such a promising future.” ~ Garrett, St. Edward’s,
Class of 2008
For the upcoming school year 36 of Glenwood’s students
hope to attend excellent college prep high schools while continuing
to live on campus and benefit from Glenwood’s life-changing
residential and life skills program. Our High School program
exists for students who have excelled in our grade school
program, yet the family and community challenges that first
brought them to Glenwood are not yet resolved and their futures
remain at-risk.
Our graduating seniors from both the South and Rathje Campuses
are well prepared for college and a bright future because
of the generosity of a High School Student Sponsor. You can
make a dramatic difference in life and future of a disadvantaged
teenager from the Chicagoland and Fox Valley Regions by becoming
a Class of 2008/2009 High School Sponsor.
Your gift of $7,500 covers the direct cost of tuition for
one at-risk student to attend Marian Catholic, St. Edward’s,
or Westminster Academy High Schools during the upcoming school
year. Ultimately, your sponsorship makes it possible for one
child to break free from poverty and despair to become a caring
and contributing member of our community.
Please help us achieve our goal of sponsoring all 36 students
by the time school starts in the fall - respond before August
31st, 2008. Becoming an Annual High School Student sponsor
is a rewarding experience for you and the teen who benefits
from your sponsorship.

This summer you can provide
a life-changing experience
to a child in need ~ Camp Getschow
Camp Getschow is a very important part of our life-changing
program and it is funded solely by generous donations such
as yours. This summer you can give a child who comes from
poor urban neighborhoods and challenging family circumstances
a chance to fish, swim, and hike in the woods of Northern
Wisconsin. In addition to learning things like archery and
sailing, a summer at Camp Getschow will build the confidence,
character and value a child needs to overcome hardship and
succeed in life. Three weeks at Glenwood’s Camp Getschow
costs just $1,500 per child.
